29 November 2019 – TUI, the world’s leading holiday company and the UK’s number one holiday provider continues to expand choice for its customers by today announcing holidays to both The Gambia and Cuba are now on sale.

This is the latest in a string of recent growth news from the tour operator, with 16,000 seats added on flights to Cuba for summer 2020 and 40,000 added to The Gambia from November 2020. Direct flights to Varadero in Cuba alongside flights to Banjul International in The Gambia are on sale from today.

Mark Hall, Director of Product & Destination Experience TUI UK & Ireland said: ‘Following keen customer interest in both Cuba and The Gambia, we are thrilled to be adding holidays and direct flights to these two places in our incredibly exciting 2020 programme. There is now even more choice of trips, hotels and frequent routes, with flight only and twin centre options also available. These areas were extremely popular previously with Thomas Cook customers and we are adding this capacity to ensure the destinations can still be enjoyed by British holidaymakers.’

    THE GAMBIA

Eight hotels in The Gambia are now on sale, in beach resorts including Kotu and Kololi. The Gambia is a holiday location popular with sun seekers looking to escape the winter blues and relax peacefully on the beach. This beautiful African destination has everything you would expect of a tropical paradise with miles and miles of un-crowded sands and warm clear seas.

It isn’t just for relaxing however, as The Gambia is very popular amongst those who like to explore and take in the local culture on their trip abroad. There is tonnes of history to absorb and the wildlife is out of this world, with monkeys, crocodiles and hundreds of species of birds on the doorstep. A chimpanzee rehab project is easy to reach by boat and Gambia isn’t too far from Senegal if an unforgettable Safari is on your bucket list.

The first TUI flight will depart on 1st November 2020 with two flights a week from Gatwick plus weekly flights from Birmingham and Manchester.

The 4T Ocean Bay Hotel & Resort is planted on the postcard-worthy coast in Cape Point, a part of Bakau that is well known for its sand swept shorelines. The resort has an African Safari Lodge vibe, with wooden beams, thatched furniture and potted plants. There is a pool among the beautiful gardens, along with an outdoor bar– where monkeys can be seen swinging from the trees!

The 3T Bakotu is a family-run hotel set on the edge of an 18-hole golf course and lagoon. It’s right in the heart of Koto where you can find a market, restaurants and a beach just across the road. Nature lovers will be in their element with a viewing platform that looks directly over Kotu’s creek.

The 4T African Princess makes the most of its beachfront setting thanks to its U-shape design, with stunning views from rooms, pool and the restaurant. The hotel is situated in the quieter end of Kotu’s beaches. Swim-up rooms cover the ground floor while the upper-floor rooms boast views of the Atlantic Ocean.

    CUBA

Cuba is a destination enjoyed by thousands of holiday makers each year. The Caribbean Island is famous for its stunning landscapes, sky-high palm trees, legendary sugar-white beaches, fascinating architecture and of course a Cuban rum, or two.

TUI is the only UK airline to offer direct flights to Varadero departing from Manchester with summer 2020 weekly flights available to book now. Customers can also make even more of their trip by visiting nearby Havana too as part of the TUI twin centre holiday programme,

The 4T Plus Royalton Hicacos is based on one of the best stretches of beach in Varadero. The adults only hotel is situated on the Hicacos Peninsula, between a white-sand beach and a belt of jungle greenery. The hotel has a feel of a tropical retreat, with thatched-roof buildings and in grounds surrounded by palm trees and shrubs.

The 4T Plus Iberostar Varadero adds a beachfront setting to its already impressive list of highlights, which include five restaurants, three pools and a nightclub. This place is surrounded by thick greenery on all sides, bar one – that’s where you’ll find the long, cream-sand beach. If you want to venture further afield, you can catch taxis into Varadero in 20 minutes.

The 4T Blau Varadero has a beautiful beachfront setting, huge pool and serene spa. Varadero’s white-sand beach underlines this high-rise hotel – the wooden walkway that leads through the grounds will take you to it. The waterside setting means the hotel gets fantastic sea views, too.

As the world’s largest travel company, operating in the UK for over 60 years and boasting 22 regional airports, 600 stores, a dedicated airline and 24-hour customer helpline – plus in resort reps and concept resorts to suit all – TUI continues to operate holidays to fantastic destinations.
